Ofuxin is a prescription medicine that is available as a Infusion. It is primarily used for the treatment of Urinary Tract Infection, Ear Infection, Bacterial Infections. Ofuxin also has some secondary and off-label uses. These are listed below.
The optimal dosage of Ofuxin is largely dependent on the individual's body weight, medical history, gender and age. Besides the medical condition it is advised for, the route of administration also plays an important role in determining the correct drug dosage. Apart from the aforementioned side effects, Ofuxin can also lead to other problems, which have been listed below. Usually, these side effects of Ofuxin go away soon, and do not persist beyond the duration of the treatment. If, however, they worsen or do not go away, please speak with your physician.
It is also important to note that Ofuxin has a Moderate effect for pregnant women and Moderate effect on lactating mothers. Ofuxin is not recommended if you suffer from certain medical conditions as it can have adverse effects. Atrial Fibrillation, Heart Failure, Myasthenia Gravis (MG) are examples of such conditions. Some other conditions that can be affected by Ofuxin are listed in the contraindications section below.

Interaction between Food and Ofuxin
Ofuxin may take longer to act if you eat some foods while taking it. Follow your doctor's advice on this.
Interaction between Alcohol and Ofuxin
Consult your doctor before consuming alcohol while taking Ofuxin as it can have severe side effects.
Do not take Ofuxin along with milk. It reduces the effectiveness of medicine by reducing the absorption of a drug. Please consult your doctor before consuming this medicine with milk.
Ofuxin is not recommended as the first-line of drug for treating sinus infection. However, if there are no other alternatives available then you can take it, after doctor's advice.
Yes Ofuxin is used to treat typhoid fever. If other antibiotics are resistance to salmonella typhi then it is very effective to treat typhoid fever. however, it is best to consult your doctor about the right treatment for typhoid fever.
Ofuxin can be taken with doxycycline. No drug-drug interactions are reported between them. Doxycyclin also does not affect the absorption of this drug. However, it doesn't mean that no interaction could exist. Please consult your doctor, if you feel any complication after consuming these two medicines at the same time.
It is recommended to avoid taking Ofuxin with azithromycin because it can cause heart-related problems. However, if your doctor has prescribed it to you take it as per his/her advice. In case you are experiencing breathing difficulties, palpitations and pain in the chest please inform your doctor immediately.
