Interaction between Alcohol and Izamed

Izamed is a macrolide antibiotic, it works by inhibiting the bacterial protein synthesis which is necessary for bacteria to perform vital activities Thus, it stops the growth of bacteria in our body and prevents the infections. Its effects may be bacteriostatic or bactericidal depending on the drug concentration.
Izamed is not given for the abscess. It is not recommended for skin and soft tissue infection. Generally, a combination of Amoxicillin and Clavulanate is given twice daily. However. it is best to consult your doctor for the right line of treatment for an abscess.
Yes, you can take Izamed for a sore throat, if it is caused by bacteria. It's very difficult to distinguish between a sore throat caused due to a viral or bacterial infection. Hence take it only when a doctor has prescribed it to you.
