Expectrol Information

Expectrol is a prescription drug, available for use as Syrup. Secondary and off-label uses of Expectrol have also been mentioned below.

Medical history of the patient along with age and gender determines the dosage of Expectrol. The condition it has been prescribed for, and the route of administration also determine the right dosage. Detailed information has been provided in the dosage section.

Expectrol also has some side effects, the most common being Skin Rash, Epigastric Pain, Bronchospasm. While these are the most often observed Expectrol side effects, there are can be others also. These have been listed below. Normally, these side effects of Expectrol are not long lasting and go away when the treatment is finished.   • Single Maximum Dose: 10 ml

  • Special Instructions: strength 1.25 mg Terbutaline, 4 mg bromhexine and 50 mg guaifenesin in 5 ml
2 - 12 years (Child)
  • Disease: Asthma
  • Before or After Meal: Either
  • Single Maximum Dose: 5 ml
  • Dosage Route: Oral
  • Frequency: 4 hourly
  • Course Duration: As directed by the doctor
  • Special Instructions: strength 1.25 mg Terbutaline, 4 mg bromhexine and 50 mg guaifenesin in 5 ml, below 6 years old can take 2.5 ml
