Duphill contains doxofylline which is a bronchodilator. It works by inhibiting the phosphodiesterase enzyme that causes smooth muscle relaxation. This results in breathing easily during COPD and bronchial asthma. It has also an anti-inflammatory activity which exerts by reducing pleurisy (inflammation of pleura of lungs) induced by the inflammatory mediator. Hence in this way, Duphill provides relief to the patients from bronchospasm and breathing trouble in respiratory disorders.
Rarely, Duphill causes a headache. It is a known side effect of this drug. However, the exact cause of a headache is unknown. If you experience a severe headache after taking this drug, take a mild painkiller, apply balm, and complete rest. Even after this if the pain does not subside then discuss with your doctor immediately.
Take Duphill 2-3 times a day or as advised by your doctor. It can be taken with or without food because food does not affect the absorption of medicine from the gut. Precautions must be taken in patients with renal (kidney) & hepatic (liver) dysfunction, peptic ulcer, hypothyroidism, and cardiac disease.
