Does Copar cause dry mouth?

No, Copar does not cause dry mouth. It has not been reported by the patients who are taking this drug. However, if you are experiencing dry mouth after taking this drug then it might be caused by other reason. You are advised to discuss it with your doctor if it persists or becomes severe.

How does Copar work?

Copar contains metoclopramide which is an antiemetic agent that prevents from nausea and vomiting by inhibiting certain chemical messengers (neurotransmitters such as dopamine and serotonin) in the brain. In diabetic gastroparesis, Copar works by increasing gastrointestinal motility and fasting the gastric emptying process. In gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Copar works by increasing lower esophageal sphincter (LES) tone which prevents the gastric contents to reach food pipe that causes symptoms associated with GERD.
