Interaction between Alcohol and Candivate
Consuming limited amounts of alcohol while taking Candivate does not cause any harmful effects. But it is best to observe caution.
This is because a long-term use of Candivate can cause Vitamin B12 deficiency. Stomach acids help in the absorption of Vitamin B 12, and this drug suppresses stomach acid which is required for the absorption of vitamin B12. Hence patients taking [medicine] for a long time have Vitamin B12 deficiency. To replenish Vitamin B12 in your body your doctor prescribes this vitamin along with this medicine.
Candivate works by suppressing body's normal immune response to inflammation which is responsible for symptoms such as swelling, redness and itching. This results in decreased inflammation and provides relief from the symptoms associated with it.
Candivate is not a pain-killer. It belongs to the class of drug called steroids. Which can help in relieving symptoms of allergy and inflammation.
