Anol is a brand name of atenolol and it is available in the form of a tablet. It is a prescription drug that belongs to the class of drug known as beta-blockers (beta1-selective (cardioselective) adrenoreceptor blocking agent). It is used for the management of hypertension (high blood pressure), chronic stable angina (chest pain) and acute myocardial infarction.
Take Anol once or twice in a day or as advised by your doctor. It can be taken with or without food because of the presence of food does not affect its absorption from the stomach. Precautions must be taken in a patient with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, thyrotoxicosis, and improper liver or kidney function.

It reduces blood pressure and slows down the fast heartbeat by blocking the influx of calcium ions and binding to certain receptors (beta-adrenoceptors) in the smooth muscles of heart which prevent the effects of adrenaline and noradrenaline that also contributes in decreasing myocardial (heart) oxygen demand.
Yes, Anol might cause constipation in a few cases only. The exact cause of constipation is unknown. If you are experiencing constipation after taking this drug then try to take laxative such as Isabgol and eat less spicy highly fibrous food.
