Adulax is a brand name for alprazolam. It is a controlled prescription drug that belongs to the class of medications called benzodiazepine. It is short-acting potent anxiolytic and a minor tranquilizer. It is used for the treatment of anxiety and panic disorder (sudden, unexpected attacks of extreme fear and worry about these attacks).
Adulax can be taken anytime as instructed by the doctor. But since this drug induces sleep in some patients hence, it is best to take it post evening. Irrespective of drowsiness and sleep inducing factors of this drug, you are highly recommended to take it during the day if you are suffering from anxiety and unexpected panic attacks.
Stopping or discontinuing Adulax on your own can cause withdrawal symptoms (seizures, difficulty in sleep, headache, nervousness, and depression). However, if you decide to stop/discontinue it, then stop it slowly, do not stop suddenly.
