Diutone is a brand name of Spironolactone and it comes in different forms of the tablet. It is a prescription drug that belongs to the class of drugs called potassium-sparing diuretics (water pill). It is used for the treatment of edema (swelling due to the accumulation of excessive fluid) associated with diseases such as congestive heart failure, liver cirrhosis, and nephrotic syndrome. It is also used for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure).
