Lulizen contains luliconazole which is an antifungal agent that works by preventing the synthesis of ergosterol (a component of the cell membrane of fungi) through inhibition of an enzyme known as lanosterol demethylase. In the absence of ergosterol fungal cell wall is damaged that results in an increase in permeability of fungal cell wall this causes leakage of nutrients which kills the fungi. Lulizen is effective against fungi such as Trichophyton rubrum and Epidermophyton floccosum.
Ideally, Lulizen is used for 1 - 2 weeks till the fungal infection is completely eradicated. You are advised to use it as per your doctor's instructions. Do not discontinue the drug suddenly or use it longer than prescribed by your doctor.
