Yes, Tef can sometimes affect the liver by increasing the secretion of liver enzymes which can damage the liver cells. Rare cases of serious hepatotoxicity (liver damage), including liver failure have been reported. Hence a routine liver function test should be conducted when taking this drug for a long time.

How to take Tef?

Tef can be taken orally and applied topically. An oral form such as tablet should be taken with or without food and avoid caffeine intake while on medicine. Duration and dose of the course will vary according to the severity of the antifungal infection.
