Yes, Mikapime can be taken with lidocaine. The clinical report suggests that no harmful drug-drug interactions have been observed between them so far. However, it doesn't mean that no interaction could exist between them. These two medicines are high alert drug so you must consult your doctor before taking Mikapime together.
Yes, Mikapime is safe to use, if taken in prescribed amount and duration as advised by the doctor. However, certain side effects have been associated with this drug such as decreased urination, itching, irritation, and hearing loss. If you experience above-mentioned side after consuming this medicine then inform your doctor and follow his/her instructions.
No, Mikapime cannot be taken with penicillin. Because penicillin inactivates the Mikapime by combining the beta-lactam ring of penicillin with an amino group of this drug to form amide which is biologically inactive. For this reason Mikapime should not be taken with penicillin. The chances of inactivation of this drug are higher in case of renal failure because in this case concentration of penicillin is higher in the kidney for a longer time as compared to the normal renal function.
Do not self-administer Mikapime. It comes in the form of injection and given preferably 2 - 3 times in a day (Intravenously). Discontinuing the medicine in between may promote resistant bacteria which result in a relapse of the infection. You are recommended to complete the 7 - 10 days course even after getting symptomatic relief. In case you feel any discomfort such as hearing loss and nephrotoxicity while taking Mikapime please inform your doctor immediately.
