Interaction between Alcohol and Merinta
No research has been done on this till date. Therefore, it is not known what the effect of taking Merinta with alcohol will be.
Yes, Merinta can treat UTI (urinary tract infection) but it is not generally preferred as a first line drug of choice for the treatment of UTI. It is only prescribed in UTI when other drugs are not effective in treating the infection or the severity of infection is very high.
Merinta can be safely taken as prescribed by your doctor. Do not discontinue the medicine suddenly or take it longer than prescribed duration.
Yes, Merinta can cause diarrhea by disturbing bacterial flora of gut. It is a common side effect of this drug. However, if you are experiencing severe diarrhea after consuming this medicine inform the doctor immediately and check if you can discontinue the medicine. Try keeping yourself hydrated, drink plenty of fluids and take ample rest.
Discontinuing Merinta in between may promote resistant to bacteria which result in a relapse of the infection. You are recommended to complete the course even after getting symptomatic relief. In case you feel any discomfort such as breathing problem and skin reactions while taking this medicine please inform your doctor immediately.
Merinta does not help in preventing cold, because the common cold is a viral infection. However, the drug can be used in the treatment of cold, if it is associated with a bacterial infection. You are recommended to consult your doctor for the best possible medicines to treat the common cold.
