Flubichlor is a brand name of chloramphenicol and it comes in the various dosage forms such as an oral tablet, capsule, syrup, and eye drops. It is a prescription drug that belongs to the class of medications called amphenicols. It is a broad spectrum antibiotic which is active against a wide variety of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. It is mainly used in the treatment of psittacosis also known as parrot fever, rickettsial infection, cystic fibrosis, pneumonia, and also sometimes in the management of typhoid fever.
