Estradiol is a prescription medicine. It is typically used for the treatment of Post Menopausal Osteoporosis, Urethritis, Vaginal atrophy. Secondary and off-label uses of Estradiol have also been mentioned below.
The correct dosage of Estradiol depends on the patient's age, gender, and medical history. Dosage also depends on the route of administration and your chief complaint for which the drug is prescribed. This information has been provided in detail in the dosage section.
The most common side effects of Estradiol are Weight gain, Metrorrhagia, Edema. Some other side effects of Estradiol have been listed ahead. Such side effects of Estradiol normally do not last long and go away once the treatment is completed. If, however, they worsen or do not go away, please speak with your physician.
It is also important to note that Estradiol has a Severe effect for pregnant women and Severe effect on lactating mothers. In addition, Estradiol's effects on the liver, heart and kidney are discussed below in the Estradiol related warnings section.
Individuals suffering from medical conditions like High Blood Pressure, Blood Clotting Disorders, Thrombophlebitis must refrain from the use of Estradiol since this can cause severe adverse effects.
