Question almost 5 years ago

Does Zepox make you sleepy?

Dr. Braj Bhushan Ojha BAMS , Gastroenterology, Dermatology, Psychiatry, Ayurveda, Sexology, Diabetology

Yes, Zepox can make you sleepy because it crosses the blood-brain barrier (a membrane that prevents the drugs from entering into the brain). After entering into the brain this drug calms the brain by increasing the activity of inhibitory neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) that results in drowsiness. It is the most common side effect of this medicine. Activities such as driving and operating heavy machinery should be avoided after taking this Zepox to prevent accidents and injuries as it causes drowsiness.

Question about 5 years ago

Yes, Zepox is safe to use, if taken in prescribed amount and duration as advised by the doctor. However, certain side effects have been associated with this drug such as ataxia (which is lack of muscle coordination during voluntary movement), drowsiness, and confusion. If you experience above-mentioned side effects after taking this medicine then inform your doctor and follow his/her instructions.
