Interaction between Alcohol and Top
Consult your doctor before consuming alcohol while taking Top as it can have severe side effects.
Top works by blocking the action of the enzyme in the wall of a stomach which is responsible for acid production in the stomach. By blocking the enzyme, the production of acid is decreased, and this helps to relieve the stomach from acidity, heartburn, GERD, stomach ulcer and other acidity related stomach problem.
Take Top as long as your doctor has recommended you to take it. Do not exceed the prescribed dose. Consult your doctor if there is no symptomatic relief.
This is because long-term use of Top can cause Vitamin B12 deficiency. Stomach acids help in the absorption of Vitamin B 12, and this drug suppresses stomach acids which are required for the absorption of vitamin B12. Hence patients taking [medicine] for a long time have Vitamin B12 deficiency. To replenish Vitamin B12 in your body your doctor prescribes this vitamin along with this medicine.
Top is a prescription drug so do not take it without consulting a doctor. It can be harmful to people to take this medicine without a doctor's advice.
Yes, Top can be taken with sucralfate, take it at least 30 minutes before consuming sucralfate. If you experience any unwanted side effects after taking these two medicines at the same time then inform the doctor immediately and follow his/her instructions.
