Yes, Tenormin and enalapril can be taken together. No clinically significant drug interaction has been reported between them. However, if you feel any discomfort after taking this drug along with enalapril then do not hesitate to inform your doctor.
Tenormin contains atenolol which is presumed to work through multiple mechanisms. It reduces blood pressure and slows down the fast heartbeat by blocking the influx of calcium ions and binding to certain receptors (beta-adrenoceptors) in the smooth muscles of heart which prevent the effects of adrenaline and noradrenaline that also contributes in decreasing myocardial (heart) oxygen demand.
