It belongs to the class of compounds known as anticholinergics (a compound that blocks the neurotransmitter acetylcholine in the central and peripheral nervous system) and antispasmodics. It is available as a tablet, capsule, syrup and an injection. Spasmindon is used for the treatment of functional bowel / irritable bowel syndrome.
