Interaction between Alcohol and Panzac
Taking Panzac with alcohol can have severely harmful effects on your health.
Panzac is not an antacid. It is proton pump inhibitor which reduce the excess acid in the stomach.
This is because long-term use of Panzac can cause Vitamin B12 deficiency. Stomach acids help in the absorption of Vitamin B 12, and this drug suppresses stomach acids which are required for the absorption of vitamin B12. Hence patients taking [medicine] for a long time have Vitamin B12 deficiency. To replenish Vitamin B12 in your body your doctor prescribes this vitamin along with this medicine.
Yes, Panzac is safe to use, if taken a prescribed amount and duration as advised by your doctor. However, very few side effects are observed such as stomach upset, diarrhea, headache, dizziness, vomiting, and joint pain. If you experience any of the above- mentioned side effects after taking medicine then immediately consult your doctor follow his/her instruction.
Panzac is a brand name of pantoprazole. It is a prescription medicine that belongs to the class of drug called proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It is mainly used for the short-term treatment of peptic ulcer, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GRED), Zollinger Ellison syndrome and other acidity related stomach problems. It is also used for the treatment of duodenal ulcer and heartburn.
