Merocare is a brand name for Meropenem and available in injection form. It is a prescription drug that belongs to the class of medication called carbapenem antibiotics. Merocare is a broad spectrum antibiotic, used for treating bacterial infections, such as pneumonia, lung and bronchial infections, meningitis, skin and abdominal (stomach area) infections.
Merocare does not help in preventing cold, because the common cold is a viral infection. However, the drug can be used in the treatment of cold, if it is associated with a bacterial infection. You are recommended to consult your doctor for the best possible medicines to treat the common cold.
