Due to lack of research, nothing can be said about side effects of consuming alcohol while taking Mci.
Discontinuing Mci on your own can increase the chances of bacterial resistance and infection relapse. It is recommended that you always consult your doctor if you have decided to discontinue this medicine.
No, Mci cannot be taken with penicillin. Because penicillin inactivates the Mci by combining the beta-lactam ring of penicillin with an amino group of this drug to form amide which is biologically inactive. For this reason Mci should not be taken with penicillin. The chances of inactivation of this drug are higher in case of renal failure because in this case concentration of penicillin is higher in the kidney for a longer time as compared to the normal renal function.
Yes, Mci is effective against bacteria (Pseudomonas). But it is also found that Pseudomonas can get resistant to this drug and in that case Mci will not produce desired results. If you are experiencing no symptomatic relief after taking this medicine then inform your doctor and follow his/her instructions.
Occasionally, Mci can cause drug-induced thrombocytopenia (blood clot formation in the vessel). However, if you experience severe thrombocytopenia after taking this medicine, please immediately seek medical help.
Yes, Mci is safe to use, if taken in prescribed amount and duration as advised by the doctor.
