Ivrea is a brand name of ivermectin and it is available in the form of a tablet, syrup. It belongs to the class of drugs known as anthelmintics. It is a prescription drug used for the treatment of parasitic and worm infections. It is also used to treat head or pubic lice infestation, and scabies (an itchy skin condition caused by small mites that live under the skin)
Take Ivrea as directed by your doctor. It is usually taken as a single dose on an empty stomach with water. If you are taking Ivrea to treat onchocerciasis, additional doses 3, 6, or 12 months later may be necessary to control infection.
Ivrea contains ivermectin which works by killing the parasite by causing paralysis. In this way Ivrea gives relief from parasitic and worm infections.
