Yes, Gentyric covers some strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa but antibiotic sensitivity test is recommended to confirm its susceptibility against pseudomonas before using this drug.
Usually, Gentyric is given for short-term treatment (7 days), your doctor may prescribe it for a longer duration as per the need based on infection severity after re-evaluating. Use it as advised by your doctor. Do not discontinue the drug suddenly or use it longer than prescribed by your doctor.
The injectable form of this drug should be taken as per doctor guidance only. Duration of treatment depends on the type and severity of infections. Put 1 -2 drops of eye drop every 4-8 hours or as directed by the doctor and eye ointment is applied 2 - 4 times or directed by the doctor.
Yes Gentyric is used to treat typhoid fever. It is a second-line treatment for typhoid fever. If other antibiotics are resistance to Salmonella typhi then it is very effective to treat typhoid fever. However, it is best to consult your doctor about the right treatment for typhoid fever.
