Eryspic is a broad-spectrum antibiotic which is active against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. It works by preventing the protein synthesis in bacteria that results in stunted bacterial cell growth. It is effective against a wide range of both gram negative and gram positive bacteria such as Corynebacterium diphtheriae, Bordetella pertussis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, and Staphylococcus pneumoniae.
