It belongs to the class of drugs called aminoglycoside antibiotics which is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that is active against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It is a prescription drug that is used for the treatment of bacterial infections of eye, skin, and body.
Eldegenta contains gentamicin which is a broad spectrum antibiotic effective against many gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. It works by stopping the production of proteins that bacteria need to survive. Hence in this way, Eldegenta kills the bacteria and treats the infection.
