Canstat should be applied topically (on the skin) and it can be taken orally. Topically, it is applied in sufficient quantity on the affected area two times in a day. Duration, of course, will vary according to antifungal infection.

Canstat inhibit the fungal cytochrome P450 enzyme lanosterol 14- demethylase and thus block ergosterol synthesis leading to membrane abnormalities in the fungus. It kills the fungus by destroying its cell membrane.
