It is particularly effective in patients with Philadelphia chromosome-positive (Ph+) chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) who are resistant or intolerant to prior therapies. Bosuvi works by targeting and inhibiting the BCR-ABL protein, which drives the proliferation of cancer cells in Ph+ CML.
