Biopro is a brand name of cefalexin and it comes in multiple dosage forms such as a tablet, syrup, and oral drops. It is a broad spectrum antibiotic that belongs to the class of drugs known as cephalosporins. Biopro is a prescription drug which is used in the treatment and prevention of bacterial infections. It is mainly used in the treatment of urinary tract infections, skin infections, tonsillitis, and pharyngitis.

Does Biopro treat UTI?

Yes, Biopro can treat uncomplicated urinary tract infections which is an infection of the urinary system caused by bacteria Escherichia coli. It works by preventing the cell wall synthesis in bacteria by binding to specific proteins (penicillin-binding proteins). The cell wall protects the bacteria from the environment, in the absence of this cell wall, the bacteria becomes vulnerable and dies.
