Interaction between Food and Biklin 250 Mg Injection

Interaction between Alcohol and Biklin 250 Mg Injection
No research has been done on this till date. Therefore, it is not known what the effect of taking Biklin 250 Mg Injection with alcohol will be.
Biklin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic which is active against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It works by preventing the synthesis of proteins that bacteria need to survive, in the absence of protein synthesis bacteria become vulnerable and dies. It is effective against different types of bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Proteus species, S. aureus, Acinetobacter and Serratia species.
Do not self-administer Biklin. It comes in the form of injection and given preferably 2 - 3 times in a day (Intravenously). Discontinuing the medicine in between may promote resistant bacteria which result in a relapse of the infection. You are recommended to complete the 7 - 10 days course even after getting symptomatic relief. In case you feel any discomfort such as hearing loss and nephrotoxicity while taking Biklin please inform your doctor immediately.
Yes, Biklin is nephrotoxic. Nephrotoxicity depends on dose and duration of therapy. Thus, nephrotoxicity is likely to occur if Biklin taken a high dose for a long time or may occur if the drug is given to a patient that already suffer from kidney problem. Nephrotoxicity associated with this drug may reduce or minimize by taking some precaution before consuming this drug like monitor kidney functions regularly and do not take it in high doses. Avoid taking Biklin with another nephrotoxic drug. If you notice any urine discoloration after taking this drug then inform your doctor immediately.
Biklin can be safely taken as prescribed by your doctor. Do not discontinue the medicine suddenly or take it longer than prescribed duration.
Yes, Biklin has been reported to cause diarrhoea and it is a common side effect of this medicine. Drink plenty of fluids while you are taking this medicine. If you are experiencing severe diarrhoea after using this drug, discuss with your doctor immediately without any further delay.
