It works by inhibiting the neurotransmitter dopamine (a chemical messenger present in our body) from acting on the vomiting center present in the brain thus preventing nausea and vomiting which provides relief to the patient from nausea and vomiting.
Yes, Apd can cause dry mouth. It is a rare side effect of this drug. If you experience severe dry mouth after taking this drug, keep yourself hydrated with juices, shakes, and ample water.
Yes, Apd can cause constipation. It is a rare side effect of this drug. However, if you are experiencing severe constipation after taking this drug then inform your doctor and take precautionary methods such as eating fibrous foods to avoid constipation.
Ideally, Apd should be taken by mouth once daily but it can be taken twice in some cases depending on the severity of symptoms or as advised by your doctor. It should be taken before 30 minutes of eating food to prevent acidity and heartburn. Precautions must be taken in patients with hypersensitivity and improper liver function.
