Frankincense oil is prepared from the gum or resin of the frankincense tree. Its scientific name is Boswellia Carteri. Elements like alpha-pinene, actanol, bornyl acetate, lindyl acetate, linalool, octyl acetate, incensol and insolol acetate are found in this essential oil. Frankincense has been used in cosmetics and incense sticks for centuries. Apart from this, it is used in religious functions and especially in traditions related to Christianity.
