Yes, Zekacin is safe to use, if taken in prescribed amount and duration as advised by the doctor. However, certain side effects have been associated with this drug such as decreased urination, itching, irritation, and hearing loss. Do not self-administer Zekacin. It comes in the form of injection and given preferably 2 - 3 times in a day (Intravenously). Discontinuing the medicine in between may promote resistant bacteria which result in a relapse of the infection.
