Tegasted capsule is a prescription medication used in the treatment of colorectal cancer. It combines two active ingredients: Tegafur (100mg) and Uracil (224mg). Tegafur is a prodrug that converts into 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) in the body, interfering with the growth of cancer cells. Uracil enhances the effectiveness of Tegafur by inhibiting the breakdown of 5-FU, allowing it to remain active longer. Always consult your healthcare provider before starting any new medication. Inform them of your complete medical history and any other medications you are taking to ensure the safe and effective use.

Uses:

• Treatment of cancer of the colon and rectum.

Dosage and Administration:

• The typical regimen involves taking for 28 consecutive days, followed by a 7-day break. This 35-day cycle is then repeated. It's essential to follow your doctor's instructions regarding dosage and duration.

• Mouth sores
• Sore tongue

Precautions:

• Avoid using antacids within 2 hours of taking.

• To prevent mouth sores, use a soft toothbrush and rinse your mouth with saline water at least three times a day.
