No, Torget is not potassium sparing. Rather, it is a loop diuretic that removes excess of water and electrolytes like potassium from the body. One may need to eat potassium-rich foods or a potassium supplement while one uses Torget. Spironolactone is a potassium-sparing diuretic which prevents the loss of potassium from the body.

Torget is available as an injection and tablet. Injection should be taken under the supervision of a doctor. The tablet should be taken orally or by mouth with or without food, usually once a day or as directed by your doctor. It should be taken at the same time every day so that one doesn't forget the dose. Torget should be avoided 4 hours prior to bedtime so that one doesn't have to get up for urinating. One must follow the dosing schedule and instructions given by a doctor.

Rarely, Torget might cause gout. It is an uncommon side effect of this drug. Torget increase the concentration of uric acid in the blood by increasing its absorption from the kidneys that causes gout. However, if you are experiencing severe gout after taking medicine then inform your doctor they might change your medication or alter the dose of this drug.
