FBX contains febuxostat that belongs to the class of drugs known as xanthine oxidase inhibitors. It works by inhibiting the xanthine oxidase enzyme which is responsible for uric acid production in our body that results in disruption in the biosynthesis of uric acid which helps in decreasing its abnormally high levels. The decreased levels of uric acid prevent the formation of uric acid crystals and calcium oxalate crystals.

FBX is a brand name of febuxostat and it comes in the form of a tablet. It is an antigout agent that belongs to the class of drugs known as xanthine oxidase inhibitors. It is a prescription drug that is used in the management of gout (arthritis that causes intense pain and redness in the joints due to deposition of uric acid crystals). Apart from the management of gout FBX is sometimes also given for hyperuricemia (an excess of uric acid in the blood) which is caused by chemotherapy drugs.
