Bio Exidil is a brand name of minoxidil and it comes in the form of oral tablets, topical gel, lotion, solution, foam, and spray. It belongs to the class of drug known as vasodilators. It is a prescription drug which is used in the treatment of hair loss (androgenic alopecia) and oral form of Bio Exidil is also used in the management of severe hypertension (high blood pressure).

Yes, Bio Exidil may cause temporary hair loss for up to 2 weeks initially after starting of the treatment in few cases only. This is due to hair shifting from the resting phase to the growth phase. Consider this as a sign that your old hairs are falling so that new hairs can regrow in their place. If the hair loss continues for more than 2 weeks then you are advised to discuss it with your doctor.

Yes, Bio Exidil may cause acne. It is a rare side effect of this drug. However, the exact cause of acne is not known. If you are experiencing acne after using this drug, then you are advised to use a cream containing salicylic acid.
