No, Terouxime does not cover Enterococcus faecalis. They are generally found to be resistant to Terouxime. However antibiotic sensitivity test is recommended to confirm its resistance.

Yes, Terouxime can treat uncomplicated urinary tract infections which is an infection of the urinary system caused by bacteria Escherichia coli or Klebsiella pneumoniae. It works by preventing the cell wall synthesis in bacteria by binding to specific proteins (penicillin-binding proteins). The cell wall protects the bacteria from the environment, in the absence of this cell wall, the bacteria becomes vulnerable and dies.

Yes, Terouxime covers some anaerobes such as Peptococcus niger but most strains of Clostridium difficile and Bacteroides fragilis are generally found to be resistant to Terouxime.

Yes, Terouxime has been reported to cause diarrhea and it is the most common side effect of this medicine. Drink plenty of fluids and do not eat spicy food while you are taking this medicine to minimize diarrhea. If you are experiencing severe diarrhea after taking this drug, consult your doctor immediately without any further delay.
