Tamby is a commercial drug that is prescribed in the form of Tablet. Enlarged Prostate are some of its major therapeutic uses.
The optimal dosage of Tamby is largely dependent on the individual's body weight, medical history, gender and age. The condition it has been prescribed for, and the route of administration also determine the right dosage. Refer to the dosage section for a detailed discussion.

No, Tamby is not a diuretic. It is rather an alpha-blocker that relaxes the prostate and bladder neck, making it easier to urinate.
Rarely, Tamby causes a persistent painful penile erection which is not related to an intercourse. This condition is known as priapism. If not treated properly, this condition can cause permanent impotence. Therefore, if you suffer from any such condition while taking Tamby, please inform your doctor immediately.
Tamby is a brand name for tamsulosin. It belongs to a class of drugs known as alpha blockers. It is available in the form of a tablet and capsule. It is used in men for the treatment of enlarged prostate (benign prostate hyperplasia or BPH) which may comprise painful urination, difficulty in urinating (incomplete bladder emptying, hesitation, dribbling, weak stream), urgency and frequency. It is also used for the treatment of chronic prostatitis (off-label).
