It is a broad spectrum antibiotic that belongs to the class of drugs known as cephalosporins. Kefzen is a prescription drug which is used in the treatment and prevention of bacterial infections. It is mainly used in the treatment of urinary tract infections, skin infections, tonsillitis, and pharyngitis.

Kefzen contains cefalexin which is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that is active against a wide variety of bacteria. It works by preventing the cell wall synthesis in bacteria by binding to specific proteins (penicillin-binding proteins).
