Kefdil contains cefalexin which is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that is active against a wide variety of bacteria. It works by preventing the cell wall synthesis in bacteria by binding to specific proteins (penicillin-binding proteins). The cell wall protects the bacteria from the environment, in the absence of a cell wall, the bacteria becomes vulnerable and dies. Kefdil is effective against bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Beta-hemolytic streptococci, Moraxella catarrhalis, Staphylococci strains, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Proteus mirabilis, and Klebsiella species.

Yes, Kefdil might cause a yeast infection because it antibiotic kills both bad bacteria and good bacteria as well. Good bacteria prevent the growth of yeast (fungi) in our body. Yes, Kefdil might cause a rash which is a sign of an allergy to this drug. This occurs very rarely and this effect goes away after discontinuation of this drug.
