Kansure is a chemotherapeutic medication used in the treatment of various types of cancer, including breast cancer, ovarian cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, and pancreatic cancer. It contains Paclitaxel as the active ingredient, a cytotoxic agent derived from the Pacific yew tree. Paclitaxel works by stabilizing microtubule polymerization, which inhibits cell division and leads to cancer cell death.

Mechanism of Action:

• Paclitaxel stabilizes the microtubules in cells, preventing their disassembly. This action disrupts the normal process of cell division (mitosis), resulting in the inhibition of cancer cell growth and promoting apoptosis (programmed cell death).

Indications: Paclitaxel is indicated for the treatment of:

• Breast cancer

Dosage and Administration: Paclitaxel is administered as an intravenous (IV) infusion. The dosage depends on the type and stage of cancer, patient’s body surface area (BSA), and response to treatment. Common regimens include:

• For breast cancer: 175 mg/m² over 3 hours every 3 weeks

• For non-small cell lung cancer: 135 mg/m² over 24 hours followed by cisplatin every 3 weeks
