It occurs due to bone marrow suppression which might cause anemia (low red blood cells count), leukopenia (low white blood cells count), thrombocytopenia (low platelets count), and pancytopenia (low red cells, white cells, and platelets). However, this effect is reversible in nature and the function of bone marrow is restored after discontinuation of this drug.
Unfortunately, there is no such drug available till now that can cure rheumatoid arthritis. Hitrex is effectively used in combination with other drugs to relieve the symptoms that associated with rheumatoid arthritis such as pain and swelling.
