Yes, Droxyl Clav is an antibiotic. It contains cefadroxil which is a broad spectrum antibiotic that belongs to the class of drugs known as first-generation cephalosporins. It is used for the prevention and treatment of various bacterial infections.
Yes, Droxyl Clav might cause a yeast infection because it antibiotic kills both bad bacteria and good bacteria as well. Good bacteria prevent the growth of yeast (fungi) in our body. The absence of these good bacteria that keeps them in check provides a favorable environment for the growth of yeast which results in yeast infection.
Yes Droxyl Clav can be taken with diphenhydramine. Diphenhydramine does not appear to interfere with the efficacy of Droxyl Clav. Hence, it is alright to take them together. However, if you feel any discomfort after taking this drug do not hesitate to inform your doctor.
Droxyl Clav contains cefalexin which is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that is active against a wide variety of bacteria. It works by preventing the cell wall synthesis in bacteria by binding to specific proteins (penicillin-binding proteins). The cell wall protects the bacteria from the environment, in the absence of a cell wall, the bacteria becomes vulnerable and dies. Droxyl Clav is effective against bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Beta-hemolytic streptococci, Moraxella catarrhalis, Staphylococci strains, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Proteus mirabilis, and Klebsiella species.
Take Droxyl Clav as long as your doctor has prescribed it. Do not take this medicine longer than prescribed to avoid bacterial resistance and unpleasant side effects.
