Acistal is a prescription drug, available for use as Tablet. It is typically used for the treatment of Acidity. Secondary and off-label uses of Acistal have also been mentioned below.

The optimal dosage of Acistal is largely dependent on the individual's body weight, medical history, gender and age. Dosage also depends on the route of administration and your chief complaint for which the drug is prescribed. Refer to the dosage section for a detailed discussion.

Acistal also has some side effects, the most common being Diarrhoea. Apart from the aforementioned side effects, Acistal can also lead to other problems, which have been listed below. Such side effects of Acistal normally do not last long and go away once the treatment is completed. If, however, they worsen or do not go away, please speak with your physician.

In addition, Acistal's effect is Safe during pregnancy and Moderate for lactating mothers. In addition, Acistal's effects on the liver, heart and kidney are discussed below in the Acistal related warnings section.

Acistal is not recommended if you suffer from certain medical conditions as it can have adverse effects. Diarrhea (Loose Motions) are examples of such conditions. Other contraindications of Acistal have been discussed in the sections ahead.
