The 1532 -bedded multi-speciality Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital was established in the British era. In 1954, the hospital's regulation was transferred completely to the Government of India. 

Treatments are provided in various departments including Accident and Emergency, Burns, Maxillofacial, Cardiology, Cardiothoracic, Vascular Surgery, Dental, ENT, Ophthalmology, Critical Care, Dermatology, Endocrinology, Metabolism, Gastroenterology, Obstetrics,  Gynaecology, Neonatology, Nephrology and Neurology.

This hospital provides round the clock emergency services like Path lab, X-Ray, CT-Scan, Ultrasound, Blood Bank and Ambulance services. There is a Coronary Care Unit and an Intensive Care Unit for serious Cardiac and Non-Cardiac patients also.
