Lodhra or Lodh is a very important Ayurvedic herb. The botanical name of Lodhra is Symplocos racemosa. It is mainly used in bleeding disorders, diarrhea and eye disorders. Lodhra trees are found in the hilly areas of North and East India. The Lodhra tree is very big and tall. Its leaves are round like eggs and 9 to 15 cm long. Its flowers are fragrant and white or black in color and its fruit is round, half inch long, smooth, purple or black in color. Its fruit is filled with 1 to 3 seeds. The bark of this tree is brown in color, which is used as medicine.
