The outer layer of the hands acts as a waterproof barrier for the skin. This layer is made up of flat cells, which protect the skin by maintaining moisture, but due to frequent washing of hands in winter, it starts getting damaged. In such a situation, this problem can be solved through home remedies -

  • Massaging the hands with raw milk keeps the skin soft. This will make the skin soft and remove the dirt accumulated on the skin.
  • Massaging the hands with lukewarm oil before bathing in the morning makes the skin of the hands soft. For this, coconut oil, sesame oil, olive oil and almond oil can be used.
  • After bathing, when the skin is wet, apply moisturizer cream on the hands.
  • Apply the mixture made by adding almonds, curd and a pinch of turmeric on the hands and wash it with water after 30 minutes. You can do this process twice a week.
  • Before sleeping at night, apply moisturizer cream or oil on the hands and massage and then sleep.
  • Make a mixture by mixing 1 teaspoon of rose water and half a teaspoon of tincture benzoin in 4 teaspoons of almond oil. Then apply it on the hands and cover the hands with a cotton cloth. Leave it in your hands overnight. Wash the hands with water the next morning. This will make your hands soft and supple.
  • Mix sugar with lemon juice and rub it on your hands. Then wash your hands with lukewarm water after a while.
  • Make a mixture by mixing 2 teaspoons sunflower oil, 2 teaspoons lemon juice and 3 teaspoons sugar. Now apply it on your hands and leave it for half an hour. After this, wash your hands with fresh clean water. It can be used 3 times a week.
  • Even in winters, apply sunscreen lotion on your hands before going out of the house.
  • Always wash your hands with lukewarm or normal water in winters. Washing hands with very hot or very cold water reduces the moisture of the hands.
