Eye drop of this drug may cause eye irritation. This occurs very rarely. If you experience excessive irritation of skin after using this drug, then consult your doctor and follow his/her instructions.
Yes Genticyn is used to treat typhoid fever. It is a second-line treatment for typhoid fever. If other antibiotics are resistance to Salmonella typhi then it is very effective to treat typhoid fever. However, it is best to consult your doctor about the right treatment for typhoid fever.
The injectable form of this drug should be taken as per doctor guidance only. Duration of treatment depends on the type and severity of infections. Put 1 -2 drops of eye drop every 4-8 hours or as directed by the doctor and eye ointment is applied 2 - 4 times or directed by the doctor.
Yes, Genticyn may cause hearing loss (deafness) in some cases. It is a rare side effect of this drug. However, if you are experiencing hearing loss after this drug, then you are advised to consult your doctor immediately and follow his/her instructions.
