Bevetex is a chemotherapeutic medication used in the treatment of various types of cancer, including breast cancer, ovarian cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, and pancreatic cancer. It contains Paclitaxel as the active ingredient, a cytotoxic agent derived from the Pacific yew tree. Paclitaxel works by stabilizing microtubule polymerization, which inhibits cell division and leads to cancer cell death.
Paclitaxel is a vital drug in the management of various cancers. While it is effective in slowing or stopping cancer progression, its use requires careful monitoring due to its significant side effects and potential toxicity. Always consult an Oncologist for appropriate dosing and safety measures.
Mechanism of Action:
Indications: Paclitaxel is indicated for the treatment of:
Breast cancer
Ovarian cancer
Non-small cell lung cancer
Kaposi’s sarcoma associated with AIDS

Dosage and Administration: Paclitaxel is administered as an intravenous (IV) infusion. The dosage depends on the type and stage of cancer, patient’s body surface area (BSA), and response to treatment. Common regimens include:
For breast cancer: 175 mg/m² over 3 hours every 3 weeks
For non-small cell lung cancer: 135 mg/m² over 24 hours followed by cisplatin every 3 weeks
Dose adjustments may be required based on patient tolerance and laboratory parameters.
